After he left Etnies in 2011, there were many rumors floating around regarding what shoes would end up on Sean Malto’s feet before he was announced as a member of the Nike SB team at the start of 2012. Apparently Malto came very close to riding for adidas, as evidenced by these extremely rare Sean Malto samples that were sold for $1,200 on Jamie Thomas’ Garage Days Collection e-commerce site over the weekend. The shoes are the adidas Skate model with Malto’s name on the side panel, and are one of three pairs in existence.

There’s no word on how Jamie Thomas came into possession of these extremely rare sneakers—but it certainly verifies that Sean Malto could have had a signature adidas shoe had he chosen not to join Nike SB.
